Executive committee

Denis DARPY

President of Université Française d’Egypte since September 2020, Pr Denis Darpy got started his career in marketing positions in international high tech companies: Microsoft Corp in Seattle, Lotus Development in the UK, and Tektronix. He defended his Ph.D. in Management at Université Paris-Dauphine in 1999.

UFE LEADERSHIPS

 

Denis Darpy joined Université Paris-Dauphine-PSL in 2008, as Full Professor. He has been Dean of the Graduate School of Organization Studies from 2016 till 2020. Under its leadership, he has pioneering new international programs. He established the multi-campus international management master between Europe, Asia, and Africa. He also developed academic partnerships with internationally ranked universities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Morocco.

Author of different academic articles, he is also co-editor in a publishing house (Editions Management et Société)

 

Dima EL HUSSEINI

Dima El Husseini  is Vice-President of Université Française d’Egypte (UFE) since October 2020. She is a Professor of Applied Languages. She previously was Dean of the faculty of Applied Languages at UFE from 2018 till 2020 and previously vice-dean. She is also Vice-President of l’Association internationale des Langues Étrangères Appliquées.

She defended her Ph.D. Thesis at Sorbonne Université (Paris IV) in French and comparing literature. She has published in 2005 the translation from Arabic to French of the theatre play of Pr Ahmed Etman « The blind host recovers vision ». She also published the translation into French of the novel « Ahlam et Les éboueurs du Caire » from Fawziya Assaad. Her last research articles are focusing on translation and localization issues for the web.

 

Wahid SHAWKY

Wahid SHAWKY draws on more than 35 years of Hotel management experience and leading several managerial  roles, have led organizations in the travel, hospitality ,business services industries inspiring teams to embrace innovation ,leverage the power of data and insights and deliver top financial performance to investors and customers

He is a visionary who leads by example and has a proven track record of fostering a positive work environment and motivating his team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experience

Vast experience in pre openings and openings  FF&E and OS&E procurement , recruitment strategic planning and brand quality assurance.

Leading of opening teams for several hospitality projects ,well known for restructuring and rebranding or developing existing brands and new concept creation of several properties and companies with a track record in managing company turnarounds in crisis by optimizing organizational structures  and business process

.A business developer with analytical mind focused on exceeding expectations of stakeholders by enhancing the existing business while taking advantage of new opportunities for growth ,expansion and innovation.

 

Dominique ADOLPHE

Pr Dominique C. Adolphe is a Professor in Mechanics and Vice-president in charge of the Research at UFE. He has been in charge of the Doctoral Training Program in Sciences of University of Haute-Alsace (UHA) from 2015-2020, head of the International Relationship cell of College of Engineering of UHA (ENSISA) from 2010-2020, and Head of the Textile & Fiber Specialty of ENSISA from 2006 to 2008. He has been Vice-president and President of AUTEX Association (International Association of Textile Universities) from 2012 to 2019 and Vice-president and President of the American society “The Fiber Society”.

He has a Ph.D. in Sciences for Engineering at the University of Haute-Alsace in 1990 and his HDR from the same university in 1997. He has produced 94 scientific publications, 8 chapters of the book, 3 patents, and presented more than 150 international conferences. His last publications deal with the nonwoven structures made of nano-filaments and functionalized to be used in medical applications (smart wound dressing), the sensory analysis of textile products, and the development of connected textiles.
