The department of Technology of Informatics and Communications (TIC) is recruiting a colleague with high research potential and with high teaching skills.

THE POSITION

 

The TIC department of the Université Française d’Egypte is looking for three open-rank positions (assistant, associate or full professor) in computer science/ computer engineering with the following profiles:

  • Profile 1: artificial intelligence
  • Profile 2: artificial intelligence and data science
  • Profile 3: embedded systems

The applicants will participate in the teaching and organization of the engineering cycle courses. The applicants must be able to cover a relatively broad spectrum in computer science/engineering and more specifically: algorithms, programming, databases, engineering and software architecture, Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems engineering, automatic for robotics, artificial intelligence, the semantic web, networks and security, probabilities and statistics, and data science. Candidates will also participate in the preparatory classes courses.

Candidates will carry out their research in the laboratory of the university around the main lines of research of UFE: circular economy, digitalization and multiculturism, frugal engineering, and sustainable mobility. In addition, they will perform the following missions:

  • Development of research activity and supervision of students (research internship, project, and PhD);
  • Animation and participation in scientific events;
  • Development of collaborations with the economic and industrial world and the laboratories of national and foreign institutions.

 

Fluency in English and/ or French is required. Speaking French is not a requirement but holding basic notions in French is an asset. French lessons are proposed to all new international faculty recruited. Salary will be commensurate with prior performance and experience, and our incentives are highly competitive.

The position is on our main campus in Shorouk, in Greater Cairo. The Shorouk city is well located at 20 min from the New Capital and New Cairo, 30 min from international Cairo airport, and only 90 min from the Red Sea.
